Flower pressing has been a preferred hobby for a few years. Women in the nineteenth century used to do that. If you have your own garden or a park near by it is simple to source flowers to use. Though you should generally check what your picking and not pick and huge wildflowers or berries. Pressing flowers leaves them clean, dry, flat and with some of their original coloring. When selecting flowers to press make sure that they do not contain insect or bugs and so the petals are clean and untorn.

To press the flowers put them in a press or between the pages of a book, with tissure paper either side. When pressing flowers get them into the press as quickly as possible in order to disuade any browning or staining. Pressing flowers is a nice past-time. But do not forget the flowers will have to be pressed for quite few weeks before they’re ready. If you’re not going to use the flowers as fast as they’re dried and pressed. Store them flat between layers of tissue in a dry and ethereal place.

Pressed flowers can be employed to brighten boxes, greeting cards,make footage and so on. You’ll need to attach them on carefully, once pressed the flowers become much more fragile even than they were before.
